Non-Carcinogenic Risk Assessment for Heavy Metals in the Soil and Rice in the Vicinity of Dabaoshan Mine, South China

Heavy-metal pollution has attracted wide attention in recent years. The problem of heavy-metal the vicinity Dabaoshan mine, largest polymetallic mine South China, widespread attention. In this study, 38 samples rice and paddy soil near were collected. physical chemical properties soil, including Cu, Cd, Zn, Pb, Ni levels rice, analyzed. baseline was analyzed by a normal Q–Q plot. bioaccumulation factor calculated. non-carcinogenic risk heavy metals evaluated calculating hazard quotient (HQ). Threshold values 35.01, 0.51, 70.94, 59.78, 16.34 mg/kg, respectively. threshold Pb higher than background value lower secondary China’s environmental quality standard. Cd both There no significant for soil. factors straw > husk. Cu husk rice. HQ showed that adults children greater 1, adults. HQs all less 1. This indicated had occurred area, more serious. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen land management, carry out treatment metal pollution, reduce health risks study area.
